Inmate Legal Association

The Inmate Legal Association is facing ongoing harassment and retaliation for attempting to provide paralegal services to prisoners in New Jersey State Prison.

Justice Allah

A prolific paralegal prisoner at New Jersey State Prison (Trenton, NJ), Justice Allah alleges that in November 2006 he was wrongfully assigned to solitary confinement in the Management Control Unit (“MCU”; perhaps the harshest form of solitary in New Jersey). He was released from solitary after 9 years, 4 months, and 29 days.

William Lecuyer

A prisoner in Northern State Prison (Newark, NJ), Will faces retaliation for his hunger strike protest against the prison’s lack of medical and mental health treatment for prisoners transitioning out of prolonged solitary confinement.
